No, this isn’t an ad. I just think what Sophie does looks fab, is something different, and she’s local so I’m bigging her up 🙂
When you think of the food scene in Coventry & Warwickshire, it’s easy to focus on restaurants, cafes and bars – maybe even the odd food festival. But there are plenty of other ways of enjoying great eats in our local area, and some you might not necessarily think about.
If I was to say ‘private chef’, you might dismiss the idea as a bit poncey and potentially out of the average person’s price range. But Sophie Hyam doesn’t seem to be your stereotypical private chef.
An award-winning cook herself, Sophie’s passionate about food and a key figure in our local food and drink scene. She trained early on as a chef then returned to it later to follow her dream of cookery. In 2017 she won Warwickshire Home Cook of the Year, sponsored by Aubrey Allen and now does everything from pop-ups and events across the county, as well as serving slap-up meals in people’s own homes.
Sophie’s got plenty planned over the next couple of months and they’re all going up on the calendar. You guys know I like to champion what’s going on in the area and I want to tell you about what Sophie’s up to to show you that there are a whole load of experiences beyond your average lunch or dinner at a restaurant.
