Yes, you guessed it. Your very own Eat with Ellen has been asked to MC/host or whatever you want to call it for the Coventry Food Festival – now known as the Coventry Big Foodie Weekend – in July.
Taking place from Friday, July 23rd to Sunday 25th, the Coventry Big Foodie Weekend is welcoming celebrity chefs Theo Randall and Lesley Waters as headliners for a series of cooking demonstrations throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday alongside a load of local talent.
The festival also aims to host the largest selection of artisan food producers in the region so there’s plenty of chance to eat and drink your way around everything from cheese to chutneys, as well as pop-up bars and cocktails.
They’ve also announced some amazing headline music acts, including Mel C, M People’s Heater Small, Rozalla, Booty Luv, Big Brovaz and more. Basically, it’s going to be an amazing weekend, and for me the icing on the cake is being asked to play a part in it.
The food festival is usually a huge hit in the city – in 2019 it brought a 20% increase in visitors to Coventry and this year forms part of the City of Culture celebrations. Given I’m always banging on about how we don’t appreciate what’s on our doorstep enough, this is the perfect chance to shout about everything Coventry has to offer when it comes to food. So come on down, check out all the great stuff, and support a very nervous Ellen as I roll my sleeves up and get involved.
For more information, visit www.coventryfoodfestival.com. Tickets for the music acts will be available to purchase from Monday 31st May so make sure you get in early!
