In case you hadn’t noticed, there’s a new cafe and bar in Warwick. Revive Cafe and Bar opened on Smith Street in June and has a bit of a twist. In the front half is a dining area where you can pop in for coffee, brunch, lunch or alcoholic drinks.
The menu includes everything from crépes, Belgian waffles and American-style pancakes to burgers, charcuterie boards and ice cream, with everything prepared on site using locally-sourced ingredients and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
At the back you’ll find a games room where you can play darts, ping pong, table football and pool, with all games tables bookable in half-hour slots. The room will double-up as a live entertainment space for stand-up comedy and there’s also a cosy nook sandwiched between the two areas complete with a mini library and retro arcade-game tables. It’s child-friendly too, with changing tables provided as well as charging sockets.
Revive is the second project for owner James Byrne, who grew up in Warwick and runs software company AccountancyManager.
He said: “I think there’s such a need in Warwick for somewhere that caters for any age, whether it’s a playdate with toddlers, a milkshake after school, a working lunch, Friday night drinks or a date with a difference. Especially with that added entertainment that we’re all desperate for after the last year.
“We’re aiming to make Revive the ultimate go-to venue in Warwick, with a line-up of events throughout the year too – like quiz nights and, from August, stand-up comedy in conjunction with Comedy at Work.”
James has put together a seven-strong team, including manager Lee Mallen and head chef Jonathan Weardon.
Revive Café and Bar is open 8am-6pm Sunday to Thursday and 8am-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Visit www.revivewarwick.co.uk to check out the menu or to book a games table. Group bookings can be made by calling 01926 403 333.
