New menu launches at The Coach House, Stratford
April 2, 2022

The Coach House in Stratford, which celebrates its first anniversary of opening in May this year, has launched a new menu – with ‘locally sourced’ at its heart.

The pub, on Rother Street, is offering dishes from indulgent burgers to British classics, all used locally sourced produce with the motto ‘a local business, supporting other local businesses’.

One of 68 pubs owned by famous brewing house Davenports, The Coach House was formerly the Lamplighter but reopened last year with a new name and new look.

On behalf of Davenports, Katie McPhilimey said: “As a Midlands company, we understand how important it is to support local and regional businesses, and Stratford boasts some wonderful producers and suppliers – we wanted to reflect that passion and quality in our food offering.

“All our fruit and vegetables are now supplied by a local company, A M Bailey and we’re particularly excited to be working with the Artisan Butcher, just around the corner from the pub. Terry, the owner, worked closely with us to create bespoke free range pork sausages, made in the shop, just for us!”

Terry Dyer, owner of The Artisan Butcher, added: “In addition to creating bespoke sausages, the bacon and pork are all sourced locally, free range from outdoor reared female pigs whilst the beef, steaks and burgers are locally sourced from grass-fed native British breed herds and all dry-aged on the bone before butchery in store.

“The chicken has been bred and supplied to the Artisan Butcher by a third generation Warwickshire farmer called Rod, who farms to RSPCA Freedom Food Standards, whilst the lamb is from a farmer on the Warwickshire border who is known for his commitment and dedication. It’s that traceability and quality that adds to the taste of dishes.

“We’re delighted to have been selected by Davenports for The Coach House, we share the same values across quality, customer service and nurturing strong relationships.”

Starters at The Coach House include cheesy garlic bread and classic prawn cocktail, as well as sharing meat and veggie platters and pub favourites, such as Davenports beer battered fish and chips as well as steaks and burgers, including the ‘Mighty Burger’.

The pub is also set to offer an Afternoon Tea menu along with ‘ale pairings’ to show off the award-winning ales in the Davenports portfolio.
