September 6, 2022

Leamington Food and Drink Festival, one of the most popular food festivals in the region, returns this weekend (September 10th & 11th), and it’s marking its 15th anniversary.

The free-to-attend two-day celebration of the best local and regional food and drink, organised by BID Leamington with support from local businesses, takes place in the Pump Room Gardens and will feature more than 115 exhibitors including 37 town centre businesses.

This year they will include: Fizzy Moon Brewhouse & Grill; Magic Wingdom; Smowkhaus; Bodega Cantina; Cote Restaurant; COOK, Dwarakamai and Boston Tea Party, among plenty of others. Other attendees will include Social, a premium canned vodka drink launched by Wasps rugby players Brad Shields, who lives in the town, and Josh Bassett, alongside longstanding favourites The Shakespeare Spit Roast Company, Aubrey Allen, the Royal Pug and the Cakery.

Award-winning burger slingers Libertine Burger will also be on hand, celebrating their own milestone as they kick off 5th birthday celebrations at the festival. The popular company’s all-American retro-fitted Ford F59 food truck will be unmissable at the festival, with 2,000 helium balloons sporting its logo ready to be handed out with every burger.

Founder Charles Harris said: “As we celebrate our fifth birthday, where better than the place we started – as a street food van in our home town of Leamington Spa.”

On top of all that, Leamington Food and Drink Festival will feature cookery demonstrations on vegan cooking from Rootyfuel, Zimbabwean cuisine from Caz Gundu, Bread for Life by Jess Mooney and Greek food from Christina Kynigos.

Aubrey Allen’s popular Cooking Competition will be staged on September 11th and there will be live
music from Gebby and Myles, Abi Rowberry, Sam Lawrence, Luna Kiss, Enchanted and Room 17 from the bandstand.

Alison Shaw, BID Leamington project manager, said: “The Leamington Food and Drink Festival is one of the highlights of the town’s events calendar and always has a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

“As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we can see over the years more and more high-quality food
and drink businesses have become involved and it attracts visitors from further afield. We are very grateful for everyone’s support and the mix of food and drink with entertainment is a winning combination as we aim to provide something for everyone whatever tantalises your tastebuds.”
