Henley-in-Arden pub The Black Swan set to open in August after refurbishment
July 10, 2023

A charming Grade II listed building in Henley-in Arden is set to reopen after an extensive refurbishment, offering great food and drink in one of the prettiest towns in England.

The Black Swan has been restored by Heartwood Inns (formerly The White Brasserie Company) and is set to open its doors on Tuesday, 8th August.

The Tudor-fronted, Grade II listed building has retained many of its original features, including an inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and cosy snugs. A new oak-framed extension has been added which will be home to a bright, contemporary garden dining area, leading out onto a deck for al fresco dining. The inn will also include a dog-friendly area with complimentary water and treats.

The Black Swan will serve a fresh, seasonal menu including: a signature twice-baked cheese souffle with Coastal Cheddar sauce; Provençal lamb roulade with confit onion and herb stuffing and a fresh, zesty lemon tart with Normandy crème fraiche. Sunday roasts will be on offer, featuring beef and lamb from Aubrey Allen plus unlimited Yorkshires, roast potatoes and gravy.

There’s a specially-created menu for children, and alongside great food there will be draught beer, cask ales and a wine and cocktail list that complements the menu perfectly.

The Black Swan is one of 20 Heartwood Inns operated by Heartwood Collection, which also operates 14 Brasserie Blanc restaurants across England. Heartwood Inns was recently awarded the top three-star Food Made Good rating by The Sustainable Restaurant Association.
