The George at Kilsby has unveiled its brand new garden and al fresco dining area and it looks pretty fab.
The revamped village pub, which reopened last year, has already proved a hit with locals and foodies from further afield, serving up a mix of top quality traditional pub classics as well as Asian-inspired dishes from chef patron Hari Krishnamurthy and his team.
The pub is now set to be the venue of choice for summer food and drink thanks to a brand new, custom-built garden area that recently opened, featuring bespoke timber seating and planters, as well as a pergola area perfect for al fresco dining.
The garden, which is open when the weather is fine so it’s worth double checking if it’s looking like rain, doubles the number of covers for The George, meaning even more people will be able to enjoy its range of food and drink. Dog-friendly and family-friendly, it’s perfect for everything from date days to dog-friendly trips and family gatherings.
A special garden menu will include sharing-style food from chicken wings and nachos to burgers, pizzas, and sharing boards, along with other dishes that appear on current menus. The George’s popular cocktails will also be on offer, as well as deals including buckets of house beer and pitchers of house cocktails.
The launch of the new garden comes as The George is also getting ready to prepares for a packed programme of events this summer, including the continuation of the already-popular Hari’s Supper Club, which focuses on different regional Indian cuisines each week, as well as regular cookery classes led by Hari himself.
Cocktail masterclasses are being added to the calendar, delivered by Head Mixologist Naresh. On top of this, The George is offering afternoon tea – including an Asian High Tea option – as well as a new Prix Fixe menu offering two courses and a glass of wine for just £14.95.
Hari said: “Since we reopened last year we’ve had an amazing reception and have loved showcasing what we do. The new garden will be a beautiful, vibrant place for people to enjoy food and drink this summer, and we’re so excited to welcome our guests to what will be a fantastic little oasis during the day and at evenings.
