While my blog has never been a ‘money spinner’, I do work with companies and brands that align with my values and who I think will be of interest to readers of Eat with Ellen. Here are the various ways you can work with me:

Often companies and brands will ask to send me products or invite me to events or experiences. I do not ask for free products or complimentary experiences if they haven’t been offered and I also only accept offers, products or experiences that fit with my values or that I think will appeal to people who read this blog. If something has been given to me this doesn’t guarantee that it will feature in the blog, and if it does the brand giving it to me doesn’t have any control over how it is featured.
When I accept something for free, readers will always know because it will always be labelled accordingly in any blog post and on social media in accordance with ASA rules. I’m always honest in my opinions but I also believe in constructive criticism, so if something isn’t up to scratch I’ll work to give feedback to the company, producer or restaurant it came from, rather than some kind of cheap takedown. That’s not to say that I won’t tell people when things are substandard or poor - and I certainly won’t recommend something that’s under par, but I also understand that things do go wrong.
I do accept payment from brands who want to see their product, experience or event appear on Eat with Ellen - again if they align with my values and will be of interest to people who read this blog. For these kind of partnerships, we will agree a rate and the content that will be produced, and the company will have some say over the content and be given the chance to approve blog posts before they go live. Again, I will always be transparent with my readers if something has been paid for and all social media will be labelled accordingly.

When I’m not writing about food, I work as a PR consultant supporting small businesses and am the founder of my own consultancy EMPR. My clients include businesses within the hospitality and retail sectors, as well as technology, local government and more.
