Have you heard of Earlsdon Supper Club? I hadn’t but it sounds like I’ve been missing out rather hugely.

Its creators draw on a background of Michelin kitchens and lovely Tuscany to offer a dining experience that sounds pretty darn good. There’s no dress code and no silly prices – just an opportunity to have some great food in unique surroundings.

I haven’t been yet but they’re certainly speaking my language. Dishes made using fresh herbs, fruit and veg from their own Earlsdon allotments and meat from a local butcher. Oh, and you can take your own booze too – always a plus.

On top of all that, they’re promoting the local food scene in Coventry with their ESC X series – a series of collaborations with local food producers which launched at the end of September.

We had a blast at the launch of ESC X, with experimental cooking alongside traditional Turkish cuisine. It was one of the best atmospheres in the dining room to date. ESC X Proof Bakery – Fri, October 25

For this event, ESC is teaming up with Proof bakery. Apparently you can expect a night of middle eastern spices and modern flair, as well as “slow-roasted meats, big flavours and beautiful bread”.

Proof provides work and training for refugees in Coventry, so it’s a great organisation and as part of the collaboration ESC will be raising money to help fund the training of their bakers.

Autumn Tasting – Sat, November 2

This evening is a celebration of autumn and all of its ingredients. You get the chance to taste ESC’s new menu full of local, seasonal produce.

ESC X Backhaus & Co – Fri, November 29

For this collaboration, ESC are teaming up with Backhaus & Co. I managed to visit Backhaus once at Fargo Village but it’s now sadly closed. However, I do hear there are plans for you to be able to enjoy their gorgeous wares on the horizon, so watch this space.

For this collaboration you can expect “mad baking skills, mouth-watering flavours and an inclusive menu suitable for vegetarians”.
