The Coventry Food Festival is back – and it’s going to be a good’un!
The event, which was a huge success in 2019, is back on July 23rd-25th, with Michelin-starred chef Theo Randall headlining on the Saturday and Lesley Waters on the Sunday.
The festival, which couldn’t happen in 2020, is back even bigger and better and as well as welcoming celebrity chefs, will host the largest selection of artisan food producers in the region. You’ll be able to eat your way around the world with excellent street food, top producers and dedicated zones for gluten-free and vegan produce. There will also be pop-up bars, cocktails, demonstrations and some of the finest producers of cheese, chutney, eggs and sweet treats, plus some great live music.

Chef and restaurateur Theo Randall, who was formerly head chef and partner at The River Café, is a familiar face from our TV screens, appearing on programmes including Saturday Kitchen as well as Market Kitchen, Something for the Weekend, Sunday Brunch, Celebrity MasterChef, Weekend Kitchen and Lorraine. Lesley Waters is another regular on our screens, appearing on Ready Steady Cook, Great Food Live and This Morning (ITV), as well as penning many popular cookbooks.
The food festival comes after a tough year for food and drink across Coventry and Warwickshire, but marks the return to events in Coventry as the city celebrates its UK City of Culture year.

Trish Willetts, Director at Coventry BID, said: “We are incredibly proud and excited to be bringing the Coventry Food Festival back into our great city this July and are aiming for it to be bigger and better than ever! It’s a huge year for Coventry as UK City of Culture, and as all our great businesses start opening again as part of the Government’s roadmap to recovery post-COVID.
“We are aiming to bring some additional joy and celebration into the city centre across the Food Festival weekend, with stalls across Broadgate, demonstrations from our amazing celebrity chefs – Theo and Lesley – and some fantastic live music.
“Of course, it’s our hope that everything will be back to normal at this point, but we are also working closely with our partners to ensure we are COVID-compliant and able to welcome people back safely.”
