It’s the stuff of dreams for children, and right here in the Midlands.
The beautiful Grand Hotel in Birmingham, where I’ve enjoyed a few delightful cocktails and afternoon teas in my time, has launched a series of character themed afternoon tea events for younger guests for the summer holidays and later on in the year.
Children are invited to step into a magical world full of afternoon tea treats, and activities like party dances, character sing-alongs and plenty of photo opportunities at the special events featuring some of their favourite characters. The events will be held in the showstopping Louis XIV style Grand ballroom, providing the perfect fairytale setting.
The Grand has already hosted a Princess and Hero Afternoon Tea on August 4th, but on Sunday 11th August it will have another event featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy.
Two further character afternoon teas are planned for later in the year. A ‘Villains’ themed event will take place on Sunday 27th October at 11am and 2pm with infamous favourites Maleficent, Mad Hatter, Mother Gothel and Cruella.
Then on Sunday 8th December the Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a winter wonderland with two Christmas afternoon tea events at 11pm and 2pm, featuring frosty favourites Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf. Perfect for some festive fun.
The Grand’s general manager Johan Scheepers said: “We are excited to welcome families to The Grand this Summer at what promises to be a very special and memorable experience for young movie fans. We’ve pulled out all the stops and I’m confident these events will provide the wow factor for those looking for something exciting and extraordinary to do over the school holidays.”
Bookings for the themed afternoon teas can be made for groups of up to eight people, making them an ideal and extra special birthday party celebration. Tickets for adults and over 12s are £60. Children aged 12 and under are £35.
