The White Swan at Shawell is having another of its masterclasses – this time the theme’s Surf & Turf! Five couples will have the chance to learn everything from how to break down a whole lobster, then trying it with the tail yourself, as well as preparing a 6oz beef fillet steak with lobster salad, truffle & parmesan fries. Once you’ve done the hard work, you’ll sit down and enjoy your dishes as well as a complimentary dessert. You’ll also get a souvenir recipe booklet to take home. Get Cooking – Cooking Made Easy, Leamington Spa

Get Cooking are running a series of basic cooking lessons aimed at older people who lack confidence in the kitchen. The free sessions are held at Acorn Community Cafe in Leamington and are suitable for total beginners and in them you’ll learn to cook healthy food from scratch.

Butchery & cooking at The Farm, Stratford

Join Martin Crombie, resident butcher at The Farm, to learn about the preparation of prime cuts, using trim to make sausage and burgers, and the best cuts to cook at home.

Chef masterclass at the White Swan, Shawell

Okay so it’s technically Leicestershire I think, but the White Swan is so close to Rugby it may as well be Warwickshire. As well as serving gorgeous food, these guys also do masterclasses. In their final one of the year, you’ll get the chance to cook a Game Scotch Egg and a Wild Mushroom Risotto. The White Swan’s chefs show you how, and then you have a go yourself.
