Christmas is fast approaching which means gift shopping for the people you love. And if those people love food and drink, why not treat them to just that. Better still – get it from one of our great local businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire.

This guide isn’t exhaustive – it never is – but hopefully it might give you a bit of inspiration for food and drink gifts you could buy from local Coventry & Warwickshire food and drink businesses.

Pretty much everything from Manor Farm Shop, Catthorpe

If you haven’t been to Manor Farm Shop in Catthorpe you probably should. They not only have everything you need in terms of festive food – including veg, their own meat and more. But they’re also great for gift ideas – from local gins and drinks, to sweet stuff, home-baked goods, and tonnes of other stuff. They’re great at supporting local producers and have the occasional festive shopping evening, so head to their website and social media to take a look.

Based in Hillmorton in Rugby, Sweet Retreat do everything from old-fashioned sweets to chocolates. They do stocking fillers but also lovely made-to-order Christmas Hampers, so you can tailor them to the recipient, whether they’re a child, colleague, family and anyone else.

It’s £5 for the gift wrapped basket and you can choose your fillings from the shop – anything from Christmas pick’n’mix pouches to boxes of Belgian chocolates, festive chocolate characters, candy canes, chocolate coins, fudge, bags of sweets, and more. Award-winning charcuterie and chilli chutneys and rubs from Prices Spices/Cureights

Prices Spices has been producing great chilli sauces, rubs and chocolate for some time, and Mike has also launched charcuterie brand Cureight which has scooped several awards and I can confirm is delicious.

Roots + Seeds Deli is the latest addition from the guys behind Roots + Seeds Kitchen, and before that The Scenic Supper. They’re selling some lovely hampers and deli items perfect for Christmas gifting – pretty much all locally-sourced and made using local ingredients. Lily & Fox Bakery, whose delicious artisan baked goods can be found at pop-ups in Warwickshire and also at Gonzo in Earlsdon, are doing Christmas gift boxes of their brownies, including chocolate orange brownies/salted caramel & pretzel brownies. Rugby Distillery have announced their 2023 gifting options, which include three brand new hampers priced from £25, including their fleece-lined pop-pom beanies as well as gin paired with handcrafted artisan gin infused chocolates from chocolatier Nenette Chocolates.

Coventry-based Dhillons isn’t just a brewery – they’re also the people behind the Sky Blue Tavern, Dhillons Spire Bar and the catering at Drapers Hall in Coventry. Gift boxes from The Little Cocktail Bar

The Little Cocktail Bar do lovely cocktail boxes and their Christmas box is back. This year they’ve created two new cocktails: Poached pear fizz and dark chocolate orange. Their kits contain everything you need to make four cocktails – and an optional shaker if you want. Boxes start at £32.

This year they’re also launching new ‘Stocking filler shakers’, which come in four fruity flavours and start at £12. Inside each shaker contains all the ingredients and instructions you need to create two portions of one flavoured cocktail.

Elderflower Liqueur from St Maur

St Maur is the creation of William and Kelsey Seymour, Earl and Countess of Yarmouth, and is a hand-crafted premium elderflower liqueur using ingredients from the family’s woodlands. The award-winning drink is apparently perfect for sipping or mixing and can be served as a beautiful aperitif on its own, or in cocktails. You can get a 70cl bottle for £37.50 or a 20cl bottle for £16.75.

That Gin Company, which has a bar in Warwick is offering bottled bespoke gin flavours by post, so you can get them to anywhere in the UK. Their flavours range from traditional juniper and floral gins to fruity offerings such as pineapple, Sicilian orange, lemon and passionfruit as well as pink pepper, black pepper, cardamom or Jalapeno, plus a desserts range including Cherry Bakewell, Black Forest Gateau and Biscoffi.
